"When a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the thing does not come about or come true, that is the thing which the LORD has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him." Deuteronomy 18:22

Update on Harold Camping's Health

by James T. Bartsch

Posted August 4, 2011

WordExplain previously reported that Harold Camping, failed predictor of the Rapture and his so-called "Judgment Day," had been silenced by a stroke. That report appears to be in error.

Camping did, indeed, suffer a stroke. According to a "Special Announcement" posted on Family Radio's website on July 15, 2011, the speech of founder and CEO of Family Radio was not in any way affected by that stroke. As of July 15, he was continuing with "intensive rehabilitation therapy."

Following is the text of the "Special Announcement" posted on July 15

Mr. Camping continues to make marked improvement as he continues with intensive rehabilitation therapy. By God’s mercy, his speech ability was not in any way affected by the stroke. The Camping family appreciates your continued thoughts and prayers on their behalf.

Assuming the factuality of the report, it is noteworthy, nonetheless, that Camping's health has not permitted him to resume any speaking on his Family Radio network.

Those of us who are not his followers still anticipate that nothing noteworthy will occur on October 21, 2011, the day on which Camping has declared that the world will come to an end.
